Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking a senior engineering leader to manage a team of software engineers in the design and development of scalable, cloud-based clearing applications. You will mentor colleagues, collaborate with architects and product owners, and drive technical decisions in an agile setting to deliver robust functionality for internal and external users.

You will help optimize performance and resilience, propose architectural changes, and work with vendors to deliver

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in building large scale, compute and event-driven solutions.
• Experience (including internal workings of Java) in Java 8+ is required.
• Experience developing software using Object Oriented Designs, advance patterns and multi-threading.
• Experience with distributed message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Amazon Kinesis, etc. is desirable.
• Experience with cloud technologies and migrations (AWS basics good).
• Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, Citrus is desirable.
• Experience with various databases (Relational, NoSQL, Graph).
• Experience following Git workflows; DevOps tools knowledge (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes).
• Monitoring tools familiarity (Splunk, ElasticSearch, Prometheus) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of software engineers in design and development of scalable cloud-based clearing applications.
• Mentor and collaborate with developers, architects, and product owners in agile environments.
• Lead efforts to optimize performance and resilience through refactoring and tuning.
• Recommend architectural changes and new technologies to improve efficiency and quality.
• Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects.
