Job summary

ASHP is seeking a Director of Human Resources Operations to lead payroll, benefits, and HR policy administration in a hybrid, Washington DC area setting. Working with the CHRO, this role ensures compliant, equitable programs and effective people operations across the association.

The ideal candidate has five years of payroll experience, five years benefits administration (association setting preferred), and three years as an HR manager, plus a BA/BS in HR or business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or Business Administration.
• Five years payroll experience.
• Five years benefits administration experience, preferably in an association environment.
• Three years experience as an HR Manager.
• High regard for confidentiality of information.
• Ability to work with all levels of staff in a professional and customer-focused manner.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with major payroll vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversees payroll processing and audits.
• Manages benefit administration, enrollments, changes, and terminations.
• Counsels employees and dependents on health and welfare plans; liaises with carriers.
• Manages retirement plan audits and Form 5500 filings.
• Administers performance reviews and annual bonus calculations; guides supervisors.
• Manages Transportation Benefit program and HR offsite records storage.
• Supervises HR Generalist and their activities.
• Develops goals for the HR office with the CHRO; improves processes.
• Partners with the CHRO to set office goals and address issues.
