Job summary

RXinsider LTD. is seeking an Engineering Director to act as an internal SME for hospital MEP systems. The role focuses on reviewing MEP designs for capital projects to optimize performance, reduce cost and waste, and improve operational efficiency, carbon reduction, and resilience.

The candidate will critique design documents, assessment reports, and change orders, and provide ongoing SME support for MEP guidelines updates. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of HVAC design and 2+ years of MEP design or energy plant operations.
• Professional Engineer (PE), EIT, or equivalent preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial or institutional HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, and pumping systems.

Responsibilities

• Optimize MEP designs for new hospital projects and expansions or renovations.
• Act as SME on MEP systems and review assessment reports and design documents.
• Review change orders and track lessons learned from hospital design reviews.
• Provide SME support for continuous updates to MEP design guidelines.
• Site investigations to assist operations or consult on construction projects; due diligence site visits for acquisitions.
• Travel up to 25%.

The Engineering Director acts as an internal subject matter expert (SME) for hospital MEP systems. This person is responsible for review of MEP designs for hospital capital projects to optimize performance and to reduce cost and waste. KPIs include but are not limited to operating efficiency, carbon emissions, water use, resilience, maintainability, replaceability, longevity, first cost
