Job summary

Futures Consulting, LLC seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and mechanical design across diverse building projects. You will provide technical leadership through all design phases, collaborating with electrical, plumbing, civil, and other teams to deliver integrated solutions for clients in multiple sectors.

The role requires a PE license and a minimum of 10 years of MEP consulting experience, with strong proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10+ years of MEP consulting experience.
• Strong HVAC design experience for commercial buildings.
• Proficiency with Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Experience with HVAC load calculation software (HAP, Trane Trace)
• Solid knowledge of ASHRAE standards, IMC, IECC and related codes.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design for multiple project types.
• Design HVAC systems (chilled/hot water, VRF, VAV, DX, hydronic, ventilation).
• Perform heating/cooling load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Prepare drawings, specs, and engineering reports.
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, civil, architectural teams.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, and QA/QC.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform technical reviews.
• Attend client meetings and guide project development.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and construction activities.
• Ensure designs meet codes and energy codes; ASHRAE standards.

This role provides technical leadership throughout every phase of design while working alongside electrical, plumbing, civil, structural, commissioning, and building enclosure professionals to deliver coordinated engineering solutions for clients across multiple market sectors
