Job summary

HealthTrust Performance Group seeks an Engineering Director who acts as an internal SME for hospital MEP systems. You will review and optimize MEP designs for capital projects to improve performance while reducing cost and waste.

The role emphasizes operating efficiency, carbon emissions, water use, resilience, maintainability, and longevity, with KPI tracking and site investigations as needed. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of HVAC design and 2+ years of MEP design or energy plant operation.
• Professional Engineer (PE), EIT, or equivalent preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial or institutional HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, and pumping systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire protection, medical gas, and sanitary systems or ability to lead.
• Self-motivated problem-solvers with effective communication skills (public speaking, emails, reports).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
• Familiarity with Power BI, e- Builder, PDF editors preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Optimize MEP designs for new projects.
• Act as internal SME on MEP systems as needed.
• Review and critique of MEP assessment report and design documents.
• Review and critique of MEP design documents for greenfield hospitals, expansions and renovations, capital replacement/renewal/enhancement projects.
• Review of change orders.
• Track and report lessons learned from hospital design reviews.
• Provide SME support for MEP design guidelines updates.
• Site investigations as needed to assist operations or consult on construction projects.
