Job summary

Samsung C&T Renewables America seeks a Director of Interconnection to guide Interconnection and Performance Engineering teams, overseeing grid interconnection for renewable projects and coordinating with EPC and Development teams. The role reports to the SVP of Transmission and Interconnection or senior management designated by the President.

The position requires electrical engineering with power systems focus and 10–12 years in solar or wind, plus travel and strong regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (power systems) is required.
• 10–12 years of professional engineering experience in solar industry preferred.
• Experience with design and development of PV and wind power plants.
• Willingness to travel at least 20% of the time.
• Experience with transmission business and PV/BESS performance engineering.
• Strong skills in MS Office; MS Project or equivalent for scheduling.
• Knowledge of DOE and FERC transmission rulings/regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to cope with pressure and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility assessment and risk evaluation for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.
• Manage all interconnection milestones and LGIP compliance for PV and BESS.
• Liaise with RTOs and utilities to mature projects and meet milestones.
• Coordinate external engineering consultants and ensure timely deliverables.
• Perform quality control on engineering outputs and maintain documentation packages.
• Collaborate with Development, PMO, Project Finance and EPC teams to advance projects.
• Provide supervision during interconnection studies and data gathering.
• Oversee handoff processes between Development, PMO and EPC teams.
