Job summary

Stony Brook University’s Provost Office, School of Professional Development, seeks a Graduate Program Director for the MA in Higher Education Administration. This full-time, non-tenure track lecturer role carries a six-course yearly workload and strategic leadership responsibilities.

Reporting to the CPOE leadership, the director will oversee recruitment, curriculum, assessment, and partnerships with regional institutions to ensure strong career outcomes for graduates and ongoing program quality.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, or closely related field.
• Demonstrated record of graduate level teaching, scholarship, and service appropriate for a Graduate Program Director position at a research university.
• Experience with online teaching and supporting online/hybrid graduate education.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and administration of the Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration program.
• Coordinate curriculum development, scheduling, and program operations.
• Lead recruitment, admissions, advising, and student success initiatives.
• Develop partnerships and engage with external institutions and professional associations.
• Prepare annual program reports and assessment metrics.
