Job summary

The Bachrach Group in New York City seeks a Director of Government Grants to lead strategy for securing local, state, and federal government funding, and to grow discretionary and capital grant revenue.

You will identify opportunities, supervise writing and submissions, ensure post-award compliance, and coordinate with program, finance, legal, and leadership to align funding with organizational priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of grant writing experience within social services nonprofits in NY.
• Proven track record securing government grants at local/state/federal levels.
• Experience with NYC/ NYS grant opportunities preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and project-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy for securing local, state, and federal government grant revenue.
• Identify funding opportunities and align proposals with priorities and policy trends.
• Oversee development, writing, and submission of competitive grants.
• Coordinate with internal teams to gather required information for submissions.
• Oversee post-award reporting, compliance, and renewals.
• Manage Grants Associates and liaise with leadership and agencies.
• Maintain grants records and improve management processes.
