Job summary

City of Plant City seeks a Director of Compliance to lead the organization’s regulatory program across U.S. federal, state, and local travel regulations and international requirements in the EU, UK, Canada, and beyond.

The role reports to the Chief Legal Officer and aligns global compliance priorities with business strategy. Responsibilities include monitoring DOT/FTC/ADA/TSA/regulatory frameworks, coordinating with Legal and IT, and developing scalable controls, policies, and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 8+ years of compliance experience in travel/hospitality/e-commerce preferred.
• Experience with federal/state travel regulations and international data protection standards (GDPR/UK GDPR) is highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to brief executives and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the company-wide compliance program across U.S. federal, state, and local regulations and international requirements.
• Oversee DOT, FTC, ADA, TSA, EFTA, and other regulatory regimes applicable to travel, bookings, and payments.
• Coordinate with Legal, IT, Privacy, Marketing, and Operations to embed compliance into products, processes, and disclosures.
• Develop risk matrices, policies, and controls; implement monitoring to detect violations before they reach customers.
• Dialogue with regulators and outside counsel; manage inquiries, audits, and remediation plans.
