Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director of Trade Controls Americas to lead the Americas trade controls strategy across Innovative Medicines and Medical Technology. Based in New Brunswick, NJ, the role partners with Trade Operations, Health Care Compliance, and Legal to ensure import/export compliance and regulatory excellence.

The position manages a regional team, drives enterprise standards, and delivers complex programs by influencing stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Minimum of 10 years overall business experience in global trade compliance, risk management, and cross-functional programs.
• Relevant customs license / certification (e.g., Licensed Customs Broker) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and update enterprise standards in partnership with related compliance functions and regional teams.
• Advise segments and functions on existing and emerging trade regulations, including internal and external audit remediation, new filing requirements, valuation and duty preference programs.
• Direct Americas valuation activities in close partnership with the Global Valuation lead and regional teams.
• Establish, communicate and measure proposed solutions for Americas trade related data, processes and automation initiatives aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Drive action around global scorecards, including incident management, identifying gaps, ensuring remediation and continually improving metrics.
• Participate in and influences compliance forums across J&J and externally.
• Supervise third party providers, where required.
• Communicate impact of key trade changes.
• Risk adjust global third-party supplier services and supervise third party providers, where required.
• Continually improve our culture of controls, accountability, and resiliency.
