Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director, Trade Controls Americas based in New Brunswick, NJ, with flexibility for other US sites. The role leads trade controls strategy across Innovative Medicines and Medical Technology, coordinating with Trade Operations, Health Care Compliance and Global Legal.

You’ll guide import/export compliance for the Americas and oversee a cross‑border Trade Controls team. The position requires a strong track record in global trade compliance, risk management, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years overall business experience in Global Trade Compliance or related leadership roles.
• Relevant customs license/certification (e.g., Licensed Customs Broker) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and update enterprise standards in partnership with related compliance functions and regional teams.
• Advise segments and functions on existing and emerging trade regulations, including audit remediation and filing requirements.
• Direct Americas valuation activities in close partnership with the Global Valuation lead and regional teams.
• Establish, communicate and measure solutions for Americas trade data, processes and automation initiatives aligned with enterprise strategy.
• Drive action around global scorecards, incident management, remediation, and metrics improvement.
• Participate in and influence compliance forums across J&J and externally.
• Supervise third party providers where required.
• Communicate impact of key trade changes.
• Risk adjust global third-party supplier services and supervise third party providers.
