Job summary

Capital One seeks a Director, Risk Advisory - Global Payment Network to lead risk management for the network and merchant businesses. You will partner with first and second line functions, provide advisory on regulatory requirements, and coach a Risk Advisory Team to help advance the enterprise risk framework.

Responsibilities include identifying trends, maintaining subject matter expertise in payments, and supporting regulatory exams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or military experience required.
• 8+ years in legal, compliance or risk management OR 8+ years regulatory experience in financial services/payments.
• 4+ years of people management experience.
• 4+ years consulting with and presenting to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with first and second line functions to analyze risk management framework for network and merchant services.
• Provide advice and challenge on risks affecting network and merchant businesses.
• Advise business leaders on regulatory requirements, policies, and industry standards.
• Develop deep understanding of end-to-end network and merchant processes worldwide.
• Identify trends in data and focus on payments risks including emerging risks.
• Maintain expertise in global payments laws and regulations.
• Ensure compliance for expansions and new products across markets.
• Build relationships across Compliance, Legal, and Audit.
• Coach and develop team members; support regulatory exam preparation.
• Manage and develop the Risk Advisory Team and participate in leadership reporting.
