Job summary

Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Carlsbad, CA, is seeking a Director, Global Market Access to shape pricing and access for US and global assets. The role partners with US and ex-US teams and guides value and reimbursement strategies across the pipeline.

This position reports to the Head of Global Market Access and will lead asset-specific strategies, collaborate with Commercial, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Regulatory and Portfolio Planning to align payer perspectives with development plans.

Qualifications

• Expertise in global market access landscapes, HTA processes, pricing and contracting.
• Experience in developing market access strategies and payer value propositions.
• Strong communication skills, able to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Leadership and cross-functional collaboration across Commercial, Medical and Regulatory.
• Bachelor's degree required; 15+ years in Pricing/Market Access or MBA with 12+ years.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset-specific global market access strategies and payer insights.
• Integrate payer requirements into development plans to optimize programs.
• Assess US and international pricing and reimbursement potential.
• Lead scientific advice to ensure evidence for payer submissions.
• Generate payer value propositions and global pricing policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address market access evolutions.
• Manage external partners to conduct market research on access landscapes.
