Job summary

Corus International seeks an experienced Global Health Security Technical Director to lead strategic design and implementation of multi-country health security programs. You will oversee technical leadership, outbreak preparedness, and health systems strengthening, coordinating with ministries of health and partners to ensure sustainable impact.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in public health, epidemiology, infectious diseases, or related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in global health programs, including leadership roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in global health security, outbreak preparedness, surveillance, rapid outbreak response, and health systems strengthening.
• Experience with Ministries of Health and international partners in low- and middle-income countries, preferably in Africa.
• Proven ability to manage multi-country, donor-funded programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Global Health Security (GHS) programming across multiple country contexts.
• Lead the development of technical strategies, annual workplans, and milestone-based implementation plans.
• Ensure alignment with national health strategies and U.S. government priorities.
• Represent the project in high-level technical working groups and international meetings.
• Lead the implementation of integrated disease surveillance, early warning systems, and outbreak response mechanisms.
• Strengthen One Health approaches integrating human and animal health systems.
• Support emergency operations, infection prevention and control (IPC), and risk communication systems.
• Support Ministries of Health in developing and implementing national action plans for health security.
• Oversee technical approaches to strengthen health information systems and data use, supply chains and diagnostic capacity.
