Job summary

UNOPS in New York seeks a Director, SIGA, to lead inter-governmental affairs and relations with UN member states. You will advise the Executive Director and coordinate with UN system-wide processes on Executive Board, General Assembly and ECOSOC matters.

You will join the global leadership team, shape strategic direction, and oversee high-profile events, advocacy and partner engagement while ensuring accountability and transparency in UN system relations.

Qualifications

• Minimum master’s degree in a field related to governance, policy, international relations or public administration.
• 15+ years in multilateral organizations or diplomacy, with governance/liaison experience.
• Proven ability to engage with UN system, Member States and donors.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction on inter-governmental affairs and UN system engagement.
• Advise the Executive Director and senior management on trends, risks and opportunities.
• Lead preparations for Executive Board sessions and liaise with Permanent Missions.
• Represent UNOPS in high-level meetings and coordinate advocacy and public information activities.
