Job summary

UNOPS in New York seeks a Director for the UN System and Intergovernmental Affairs Office (SIGA). The role leads inter-governmental engagement, advises UNOPS leadership, and coordinates with UN bodies and Member States.

Reports to the Executive Director and liaises with the Executive Office and Partnerships groups. Based in New York, the Director shapes UNOPS strategy in governance and internal oversight, represents UNOPS in Executive Board matters, and ensures alignment with UN-wide processes

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in multilateral organizations or diplomacy, including governance/liaison roles.
• Strong understanding of UN system organizations, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction on inter-governmental affairs and UN system engagement.
• Lead preparations and governance liaison for Executive Board and UN-wide processes.
• Represent UNOPS in high-level forums and coordinate with UN Headquarters and Executive Board bodies.
