Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a visionary Director of TeraWave Ground Infrastructure to lead end-to-end design, deployment, and scaling of our terrestrial and ground networking architecture connecting the satellite constellation to the internet. You will own the physical and logical fabric across PoPs, SatOps, and data centers.

The role requires deep expertise in large-scale IP routing, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, and hardware-accelerated packet processing, with leadership of global teams and complex procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical discipline (Master's or MBA preferred).
• 12+ years of progressive experience designing, building, and operating large-scale service provider, hyperscale cloud, or telecommunications network infrastructure.
• Deep networking and routing background with hands-on CLI experience configuring enterprise routers and switches.
• Proven expertise in rack layouts, ToR switching, and integrating high-performance hardware.
• Experience managing backbone networks, IP transit agreements, and direct peering at major IXPs.
• Experience leading global engineering teams and cross-border project deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy for designing and scaling the TeraWave global IP/MPLS backbone.
• Own router/switch configurations and routing policies to optimize latency and throughput.
• Architect reliable, highly available network connectivity with automatic failover and 99.999% uptime.
• Oversee hardware rack elevations, power, thermal, cabling, and ToR integration.
• Drive IP transit partnerships, IXPs, and global PoP expansion.
• Manage site selection, data centers, and regulatory compliance for international deployments.
• Build and scale global engineering teams and implement NetOps telemetry.
