Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Senior Director for Data Collection Data Steward to lead the standards delivery framework, governance, and operations within GCDS. You will drive enterprise metrics, manage budgets, and mentor a global team across multiple therapeutic areas.

You will act as a senior escalation point for governance decisions and align cross‑functional stakeholders to strategic data standard initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; 13+ years in Clinical Data Management (or related).
• 3 years in clinical data standards development or metadata management.
• Minimum of 5 years people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of standards governance and operations across GDMS/GCDS.
• Lead cross-functional strategic projects and governance initiatives.
• Support audits and inspections as required.
• Develop training materials and mentor the Global Clinical Data Standards team.
• Engage with executives and external stakeholders to drive data standard programs.
