Job summary

Merck in North Wales, PA is seeking a Senior Director, Clinical Data Management to lead data standards governance and enterprise strategies. You will guide the GCDS Leadership Team, shape policy, manage budgets, and mentor a global team across data collection and transformation.

You will collaborate with GDMS, GCTO, and partners, drive improvements to training, reporting, and standards libraries, and represent Merck in industry forums.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 13 years’ experience in Clinical Data Management (or related discipline).
• 3 years in clinical data standards development or metadata management.
• Minimum of 5 years people management experience.
• Demonstrated deep subject matter expertise.
• Advanced Degree (Masters or Doctorate) and minimum of 10 years’ experience in Clinical Data Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance, standards, and operations across data collection definitions and industry standards.
• Oversee training design, delivery, and mentoring for the Global Clinical Data Standards team.
• Engage with senior stakeholders across GDMS/GCTO/GCD and external partners.
• Drive strategic direction for new processes and tools supporting clinical data standards.
