Job summary

Madison Hunt is seeking a Director for Power Generation Origination in Denver to lead the commercial assessment of gas-fired generation projects. You will own competitive analyses, pipeline tracking, and decision-ready materials for executive leadership.

You’ll drive financial modeling, scenario analyses, and project economics while guiding a team of analysts through the development, financing, and execution phases. Strong communication with investors and lenders is essential.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in thermal power generation or related fields.
• Experience evaluating complex energy investments and owning project economics.
• Experience leading analysts and analytical workstreams.
• Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis capabilities.
• MBA or CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owning competitive analysis, pipeline tracking, and routine commercial updates for thermal power generation projects in development (primarily large-scale gas-fired assets) and recommending whether each should advance.
• Leading and managing the analyst team covering the thermal generation pipeline.
• Serving as lead analytical advisor to thermal power generation leadership from development through financing, execution, and operations.
• Owning the strategic analyses, business cases, and decision-support materials used by executives on gas-fired generation investments.
• Owning development of materials for customers, investors, lenders, executive leadership, and the Board on thermal generation projects.
• Supporting economic evaluation and underwriting of gas-fired generation projects, and overseeing project finance, valuation, and scenario models.
• Assessing project risks, returns, capital requirements, financing structures, and commercial agreements for thermal generation assets.
