Job summary

City of New York seeks a Director of Food Safety Data Analytics to lead a team in leveraging data analytics, informatics tools, and data-driven strategies to streamline food safety operations. Collaboration with BFSCS and IT is essential to deliver scalable analytical solutions.

The role emphasizes management of four data analysts and an informatics product manager, with responsibilities in developing reporting pipelines, KPIs, and data migration pathways. Hybrid work is possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading data analytic projects through all lifecycle phases.
• Strong background in surveillance and informatics project management.
• Advanced SQL programming for querying and transforming complex datasets.
• Experience delivering interactive dashboards and reports using SSRS or Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with BFSCS leadership to optimize procedures and automate data workflows.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated data solutions and reporting pipelines.
• Lead the Food Safety Data Analytics Team and manage staff including an informatics product manager.
• Oversee SQL database design, ETL workflows, and backend data infrastructure.
• Present analytics findings to Agency leadership and at conferences.
• Ensure data products adhere to documentation standards and data governance.
