Job summary

AMD Austin seeks a Director of Firmware (People Leader) to own end-to-end firmware delivery for CEAI and SPSE programs, from concept to high-volume execution. You’ll lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with customers and executives, and define program plans with clear milestones and budgets.

You have 15+ years in firmware or embedded software, 5+ years in leadership/PM roles, and a proven track record delivering hardware/software co-development programs under pressure.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in firmware or embedded software development.
• 5+ years of technical leadership or technical program management experience.
• Delivery experience on hardware/software co-development programs.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging in complex systems.
• Proven ability to communicate with senior executives and customers.
• Familiarity with Agile project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end firmware delivery for assigned programs and ensure feasibility.
• Scope technical feasibility with software/hardware architects and leads.
• Define and drive projects and program plans based on guidance.
• Build and lead cross-functional teams for CEAI Product Line.
• Hire, coach, and grow senior ICs and engineering leaders.
• Develop program plans, schedules, staffing, budgets, and KPIs.
• Communicate status and risk to executives and customers.
