Job summary

AMD is seeking a Director of Firmware (People Leader) in Austin, TX to own firmware delivery for CEAI and SPSE programs from concept to high-volume execution.

You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers across software, hardware, and silicon, collaborating with executives and customers to shape product roadmaps and resolve complex technical challenges. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Fifteen+ years in firmware or embedded software development.
• Five+ years in technical leadership or technical program management.
• Proven delivery of hardware/software co-development programs.
• Strong problem solving and debugging in complex systems.
• Excellent communication with executives and external partners.
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments with competing priorities.
• Experience with Agile project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end firmware delivery for assigned programs.
• Define and drive program plans with architects and tech leads.
• Build and lead cross-functional teams across CEAI products.
• Develop and manage program schedules with hardware/software dependencies.
• Establish program artifacts, budgets, timelines, and OKRs.
• Communicate status and risk to executives and stakeholders.
• Drive engineering efficiency using AI and risk mitigation.
