Job summary

University of South Carolina Upstate is seeking a Director of Facilities Management to lead planning, operation, and maintenance of campus facilities and grounds. The role ensures a safe, sustainable, and welcoming environment aligned with the university’s strategic goals.

The Director oversees capital projects, regulatory compliance, and the facilities budget while supervising staff and advancing operational excellence. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8+ years of facilities management experience.
• Experience in capital planning, project delivery, and supervisory roles.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead USC Upstate Facilities Management, overseeing planning, maintenance, renovation, and grounds.
• Direct capital planning and project delivery with large budgets and milestones.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety programs, and environmental health and safety standards.
• Develop and manage the department budget exceeding $10M and supervise facilities staff.
• Collaborate with campus leadership and external agencies on space utilization and reporting.
