Job summary

University of South Carolina Upstate is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the design and execution of capital construction and renovation projects on campus. You will collaborate with USC Upstate stakeholders and various USC offices to deliver projects on time and within scope.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 2 years of job-related experience, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, with possible substitution by related certifications or education.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering and 5+ years of project management experience in design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Executes development and coordination of major or significant capital outlay projects from planning through closeout, coordinating with campus clients and external partners.
• Monitors and controls contractual commitments, reviewing documents, budgets and schedules, and coordinating with multiple USC offices and external agencies.
• Manages bid and construction document development, procurement, change orders, and budget updates; ensures compliance with design guidelines.
• Maintains knowledge of procurement, codes, and master plans; participates in training and meetings with internal and external personnel.
• Communicates project issues with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and university leadership; builds effective working relationships.
• Performs other related duties and provides technical support for building code compliance.
