Job summary

Dexterra Group in the United States is seeking an Account Director for Facility Management/Janitorial. You will oversee custodial services, lead site teams, manage profit and loss, and drive operational excellence while ensuring safety and client satisfaction.

You will shape strategic directions, manage budgets, foster client relationships, and guide a diverse workforce across multiple sites, with travel as needed and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Operations Management or related field is an asset.
• Minimum three (3) years of management experience directing teams in facilities services/janitorial operations.
• Proven experience recruiting, training, retaining, and managing employee performance, including progressive discipline.
• Experience managing labour relations, including unionized accounts.
• Experience with government/public sector contracts is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Excellent client, employee and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 and other business software.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across custodial and facilities contracts to align with client expectations.
• Develop operational strategies to drive service excellence, revenue growth, profitability, and retention.
• Lead site managers, supervisors, and frontline staff across locations.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, training and performance management.
• Ensure Workplace Health and Safety compliance and training.
• Identify opportunities to expand services within client accounts and support renewals.
• Maintain financial accountability, including budgets, forecasting and cost control.
• Conduct site visits, quality audits, and data-driven performance improvements.
