The ideal candidate has a proven track record delivering ERP modernization programs, strong change management and stakeholder skills, and a willingness to work on-site multiple days per week with relocation support

Job description

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Director, ERP Programs to lead a large-scale enterprise SAP S/4HANA transformation initiative. This highly visible leadership role reports directly to the senior executive responsible for Information Technology and will be responsible for driving the successful execution of a multi-year ERP modernization program across the organization.

The Director, ERP Programs will serve as the strategic leader for the transformation effort, partnering with executive leadership, business stakeholders, implementation partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery, organizational adoption, and long-term business value.

This role requires a proven ERP transformation leader who can quickly assume ownership of a complex program, influence stakeholders at all levels, and drive meaningful organizational change within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation program from planning through execution and adoption.
• Drive enterprise-wide change management initiatives to ensure successful business readiness and user adoption.
• Partner with business and IT leaders to define priorities, align objectives, and remove obstacles to program success.
• Manage program scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and overall governance.
• Establish strong relationships with executive stakeholders and provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and key decisions.
• Coordinate and oversee external SAP implementation partners, consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure successful integration of manufacturing, supply chain, operations, and other core business functions within the ERP landscape.
• Lead issue escalation and resolution efforts to maintain program momentum and delivery objectives.

Strategic Operations & Governance

• Provide oversight of program budgets and financial performance.
• Support resource planning and workforce allocation across the ERP initiative.
• Manage contractor and consulting engagements.
• Develop executive-level reporting and program communications.
• Contribute to organizational planning and strategic technology initiatives.

Required Qualifications

ERP & SAP Experience

• Extensive experience leading large-scale SAP ERP transformation programs.
• Demonstrated success delivering SAP S/4HANA implementation or modernization initiatives.
• Strong understanding of ERP program governance, execution, and organizational adoption.
• Ability to assume immediate ownership of a complex enterprise program with minimal onboarding.

Manufacturing Experience

• Experience working within a manufacturing environment is required.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain processes, production workflows, and ERP integration.
• Experience supporting enterprise transformation initiatives across operational business functions.

Leadership & Communication

• Proven track record leading large, cross-functional programs and teams.
• Exceptional executive presence, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate technical ERP concepts into business-focused discussions.
