Job summary

Plymouth Rock Assurance seeks a Director of Data Products & Engineering to own end-to-end ingestion, transformation, and delivery of enterprise data assets in the AWS data lake. You will lead teams, drive velocity, and ensure data is high-fidelity, low-latency, and available for BI, ML, and AI services.

You will mentor senior staff, shape the data roadmap, collaborate with governance, and partner with business leaders to ensure data is structured, governed, and consumable at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, CS, engineering, actuarial science, business administration or related field is required.
• Master's degree in Data Analytics, AI, or Information Management preferred.
• 7+ years in data management/engineering; 3+ years in senior leadership of enterprise data or analytics functions.
• Expertise in data quality, data architecture, and AI/GenAI data needs; experience with cross-functional agile environments.
• P&C Insurance experience and familiarity with underwriting platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration across technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Mentor senior engineers and managers; contribute hands-on technical work and guide complex decisions.
• Define processes for operational excellence, resiliency, quality, and governance.
• Lead development of enterprise data products aligned to business needs and AI use cases.
• Oversee ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines in the data lake and data warehouse.
• Ensure data is structured, accessible, and reusable with proper metadata and lineage.
• Collaborate with governance and architecture to maintain standards and documentation.
