Carnegie seeks a Director of Enrollment Strategy to lead complex enrollment programs for higher education clients. You will translate data and market insights into strategic plans, manage client engagements, and guide teams to deliver measurable enrollment results.

You will oversee multi-channel enrollment strategies, collaborate with campus leaders, and stay ahead of trends in higher education marketing and enrollment.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in enrollment, admissions, strategic communications, or related field in higher ed or agency
  • 5+ years working in higher ed with Student Information Systems (SIS)
  • Extensive experience with CRM tools or other relational database systems
  • Deep expertise in higher ed enrollment management, admissions, and/or financial aid
  • Track record of building enrollment strategies that deliver results
  • Ability to distill large data into actionable insights for executives
  • Experience growing client accounts and sustaining partnerships

About The Role

The Director of Enrollment Strategy builds and runs enrollment strategy for Carnegie’s most complex clients. This person is a trusted expert clients and internal teams turn to for enrollment guidance, translating data and market insight into strategies that hit enrollment goals. The work spans hands-on client leadership, data storytelling, and staying ahead of what’s changing in higher ed enrollment.

  • Client Engagement & Strategy
    • Lead on-site and virtual client engagements, making sure every interaction delivers a strong experience and clear results
    • Serve as lead strategist for integrated student search, financial aid, and enrollment strategies, and step in when clients or team members hit a wall
    • Run high-stakes calls and oversee the enrollment and admissions strategy deliverables the team produces
    • Build senior-level relationships with campus leaders alongside the Account Director, and earn credibility in both formal and informal settings
    • Guide clients and colleagues toward a fuller, forward-looking view of their enrollment needs
  • Data Analysis & Strategy
    • Help manage the team’s analysis of multi-channel enrollment data, turning complex information into insights people can act on
    • Give strategic direction and final sign-off on targeted name purchase strategies, market insights, competitive analysis, and adult learner research
    • Provide oversight, design, and assessment guidance on institutional grant and scholarship strategies as assigned
    • Set clear deliverables and success measures that raise the bar across integrated teams
    • Turn data into stories that land with a wide range of audiences, including executive leadership
  • Cross-Company Collaboration & Team Leadership
    • Keep communication tight across client project teams so strategies, metrics, and reporting stay aligned to each client’s goals
    • Research clients, markets, and consumers to understand the landscape, challenges, and goals each one is working with
    • Stay current on trends in higher ed enrollment and marketing, and share what you learn with the team and broader company
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; master’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in enrollment, admissions, strategic communications, or a mix of these, at a higher ed institution, higher ed agency, or related industry
  • 5+ years working in higher ed with Student Information Systems (SIS)
  • Extensive experience with CRM tools or other relational database systems
  • Deep expertise in higher ed enrollment management, admissions, and/or financial aid
  • A track record of building enrollment strategies that get results for institutions and clients
  • Skilled at reading large volumes of information and distilling it into insights that drive enrollment
  • Experience growing client accounts and building partnerships that last
  • Ability to earn the confidence of VP- and C-level executives
  • Strong presentation, client management, and strategic communication skills
  • Sharp instincts for spotting problems and fixing themComfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities at once
  • Proven success leading enrollment and student search projects and managing cross-functional teams
  • Clear communicator and strong time manager, comfortable switching between multiple technology platforms in a remote environment
  • Physical requirement: able to work at a computer for extended periods
