Job summary

BNY is seeking a Director of Business & Function Finance to support Infrastructure and Cyber platforms. You will partner with engineering leaders to drive workforce planning, vendor governance, and executive reporting in a global, matrixed environment.

The role emphasizes strategic execution, continuous improvement, and strong collaboration across finance, engineering, HR, and sourcing within a large-scale engineering organization. Located in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Significant experience in business management, finance, chief of staff, or operations within a complex organization.
• Experience supporting senior leaders in a highly matrixed, global environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level reporting.
• Proven ability to build partnerships across finance, engineering, HR, sourcing, and other functions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior engineering leaders to translate priorities into actionable workforce plans.
• Identify, assess, and manage financial risks and opportunities across the organization.
• Support workforce planning and resource optimization, including headcount forecasting and requisition pipeline.
• Collaborate with the CFO to align financial impacts with workforce trends.
• Deliver reporting and insights for data-driven decision-making on organizational health and talent demand.
• Oversee vendor planning and governance across external labor, software, and services.
• Support procurement processes including demand intake, approvals, and invoicing.
• Develop executive reporting materials for leadership reviews.
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls, and quality of business management support.
• Contribute to transformation efforts and evolve operating models for long-term performance.
