Job summary

BNY is seeking a Senior Director of FinOps to build and lead its Technology FinOps capability, driving financial accountability and ROI across a multi-cloud environment in New York City. You will stand up the operating model, recruit and lead a team, and embed cost-conscious decision-making across engineering and finance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology finance or related discipline.
• At least 3 years leading a FinOps or technology cost management function.
• Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and consumption-based billing across providers.
• Experience in financial services or similarly regulated industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the enterprise FinOps strategy centered on agentic products and autonomous workflows.
• Build data products that expose transparent allocation by business unit, product, application, environment, owner, and workload type.
• Manage commitment-based spend and optimize coverage across providers.
• Oversee the cost data pipeline from ingestion to near real-time reporting with dashboards and alerts.
• Establish and improve governance cadences and partner with procurement and legal on renewals and optimization.
