Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Director of the Emergency Department to provide strategic leadership and oversee departmental operations, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting.

The role collaborates with medical staff and ancillary departments to optimize care coordination, throughput, and patient experience while maintaining regulatory compliance and promoting staff development.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Emergency Department.
• Collaborates with medical staff and nursing leadership to improve care coordination and patient experience.
• Monitors performance metrics and implements improvement strategies.
• Ensures readiness for regulatory standards and audits (The Joint Commission, CMS).
• Directs emergency preparedness planning and disaster response coordination.
• Performs other duties as assigned and ensures attendance.
