Job summary

MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM seeks a Director of Emergency Department to provide strategic leadership and oversee operations, staffing, and education for high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include collaboration with medical and nursing leadership, monitoring performance metrics, ensuring regulatory compliance, disaster readiness, and continuous improvement across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required or seven (7) or more years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
• Master's Degree preferred
• 3-5 years of leadership experience preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in a closely related field with Bachelor's degree required

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Emergency Department to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborates with medical staff, nursing leadership, and ancillary departments to improve care coordination and patient experience.
• Monitors department metrics (length of stay, throughput, patient satisfaction) and implements improvement strategies.
• Ensures regulatory readiness and accreditation compliance, including The Joint Commission and CMS.
• Directs emergency preparedness planning and crisis response coordination.
• Addresses patient care concerns and operational disruptions with timely resolution.
