Actalent seeks a Director of Embedded and Electrical Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team in developing advanced ProAV and embedded systems for medical, defense, and enterprise markets. This hands-on leadership role blends architecture decisions, project execution, and people development to deliver high-performance products.

The role requires a strong background in embedded hardware, FPGA/Verilog/VHDL, MCUs, and mixed-signal design, with experience driving design reviews, verification,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline required.
• 10+ years in embedded hardware design in mission-critical/high-reliability industries (medical/defense/aerospace/industrial).
• 3+ years of management or team leadership of electrical/embedded engineers.
• Hands-on experience with schematic capture, circuit simulation, and mixed-signal board design.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of embedded hardware architectures meeting performance and cost targets.
• Direct PCB layout reviews ensuring signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal management best practices.
• Integrate MCU/FPGA/SoCs with interfaces (I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, CAN, RS-232/422/485, PCIe).
• Support firmware/HDL development for embedded control and real-time video transport.
• Oversee analog, digital, mixed-signal circuit design for video, control, power systems.
