Job summary

Sanchez- Student Success in Tempe, Arizona, is seeking a Head of English Language Learning and Social Studies to lead K-8 ELL and Social Studies programs, ensure compliance, and guide instructional leadership across the district.

The role emphasizes building stakeholder engagement with multilingual families, fostering a data-driven, language-rich environment, and supporting principals and site leaders in advancing student achievement for English language learners and diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Arizona administrative certification is required.
• Bilingual or ESL Endorsement required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of administrative and/or management experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience, with direct experience in ELL settings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ADE reporting and SEI models.

Responsibilities

• Lead IELL and Social Studies program leadership and compliance for K-8 across the district.
• Provide district-wide PD for principals, instructional coaches, and teachers on ELL strategies and SEI model implementation.
• Supervise ELL Compliance Specialists with defined schedules and coaching conversations.
• Coach principals and teachers on social studies instructional leadership and language development.
• Coordinate home-school communication and ensure timely, culturally responsive updates to families.
