Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $59,500.00 USD annually.

ASU Preparatory Academy (ASU Prep) seeks a qualified English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher to deliver targeted and integrated English language instruction aligned with state and Office of English Language Acquisition Services approved frameworks. The role includes developing students’ cognitive capacity, fostering self‑esteem, motivation, and civic responsibility, and advancing professional growth through the creation and implementation of effective teaching materials and strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Post‑Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
• Master’s Degree in ESL/ELL Instruction preferred.
• Arizona State teaching certificate (appropriate endorsements may be required).
• SL/ELL or SEI certification/endorsement required.
• Experience working with English Language Learner populations.
• Experience with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System (preferred).
• Active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain upon employment).
• Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education that demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Determine instruction techniques, strategies, and methods; adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning styles and student needs.
• Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students, selecting appropriate assessment tools and levels.
• Create lesson plans and substitute teaching plans aligned to learning objectives and school guides.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians regarding academic and discipline issues through phone calls, notes, progress reports, and other mediums.
• Assess and evaluate student performance, behavior, and progress in grades, progress reports, and comprehension of learning objectives.
• Adhere to attendance requirements and maintain confidentiality of protected student and staff information after employment ends.
• Assist in the well‑being of students as a fundamental decision‑making value.
• Contribute to professional growth of self and colleagues through curriculum planning, staying current with educational trends, and continuing professional development to meet state and school requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve the overall purposes of the school program.
• Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Physical Demands

Stand, talk, and sometimes walk and sit while performing duties. Use hands, arms, and fingers to input data, handle equipment, and perform tasks that may require occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Requires close vision for reading handwritten or typed material and appropriate color, distance, peripheral, and depth vision.

Location & Travel

Immersion. Occasional travel for site visits, meetings, trainings, and/or conferences may be required. Locations may vary and require overnight stays.
