Tucson Unified School District is seeking an ELD/SEI-focused teacher for K-5 at Language Acquisition, at 1010 E 10th Street, Tucson. This 1.0 FTE position involves a 7.5-hour day within a 9.5-month calendar, with salaries prorated if needed.
Responsibilities include delivering instruction, planning engaging lessons, and monitoring student progress while adhering to ADE requirements for English Learners and other PHLOTE students.
Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning. ELD teacher duties may also include AZELLA testing and other ADE compliance requirements for English Learners and other PHLOTE students.

Work Calendar:9.5 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.
Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
