GAF, a leading roofing manufacturer, seeks a Director of EHS Operations to develop and implement world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities and operations. You will lead strategy, oversee compliance, and foster a proactive, behavior-based safety culture reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety.

You will mentor EHS teams, drive data-driven improvements, and ensure governance of safety policies while coordinating with Corporate EHS Staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs with a client-focused mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication abilities.
• Openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite Office.
• Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Commitment and work ethic to support company goals.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy across sites.
• Drive a proactive safety culture with employee engagement and accountability.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation processes.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS management systems and tools.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance over safety standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Mentor EHS professionals and leadership with training programs.
• 50% Domestic Travel.
