Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of Environmental Compliance to establish and drive corporate environmental programs, permitting, and regulatory compliance across locations. You will report to the VP of Environmental, Health, and Safety and lead EHS professionals, guiding strategy, governance, and technical excellence.

You will oversee site EHS staff, evaluate new technologies, and coordinate with operations, engineering, and external counsel to ensure timely permits, emissions calculations, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is required.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities in regulatory contexts.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute strategy for environmental excellence across locations.
• Lead corporate environmental initiatives and manage external counsel.
• Provide technical leadership on remediation, wastewater, emissions, and sustainability.
• Interpret federal/state regulations and apply to operations.
• Collaborate with functions to implement robust environmental compliance systems.
• Evaluate and recommend air pollution control technologies.
• Prepare complex permit applications and regulatory reporting.
• Partner with operations to ensure ongoing environmental compliance.
