Job summary

Lilly in Indianapolis, IN, invites experienced scientists to lead synthetic molecule route commercialization and process optimization for clinical trials and product commercialization. You will supervise cross-functional teams and oversee external R&D and tech transfer to ensure robust, scalable processes.

Position requires deep knowledge of modern synthetic chemistry, process development, and regulatory-aligned manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in organic chemistry or related field with 10+ years of pharmaceutical process development experience OR MS with 15+ years' experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical process development and active ingredient development helpful.
• External collaboration, regulatory submissions, and tech transfer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead synthetic route commercialization and process optimization for API development.
• Supervise cross-disciplinary teams of chemists, engineers, and formulation scientists.
• Oversee external R&D, tech transfer, and campaign execution to support clinical trials and regulatory submissions.
• Provide technical leadership in scale-up and manufacturing process development across development stages.
