Director, E-Commerce

The Director of e-commerce is responsible for driving Cartier’s North America online brand strategy, e-commerce and omnichannel business growth, while delivering an exceptional, seamless client experience. An energetic leader, the Director of E-commerce will instill a high-performance culture and foster innovation, cross functional collaboration, and data-driven decision making through a test and learn mindset for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team management
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the ecommerce team to drive results and achieve organizational goals
- Lead and manage a team of ecommerce professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support
- Partner with key internal functional areas of the business, including call center, marketing, supply chain, distribution center, client experience and IT, to ensure alignment and integration of ecommerce initiatives
Site and sales development
- Develop and execute Cartier’s overall online strategy, managing the Maison brand presence and positioning
- Drive the monthly business planning and execution to meet and exceed the sales growth targets
- Lead regional site experience, features and functionalities including UI/UX, navigation, path to purchase, product recommendations to enhance the shopping experience and drive conversion
- Utilize data and analytics to measure and track ecommerce performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and make data-driven decisions. Utilizes robust testing to develop strategies that optimize site performance, and lift key success metrics, driving results for the business
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership on ecommerce performance, strategy, and key initiatives
- Orchestrate end-to-end ecommerce operations, partnering with contact center, logistics, supply, and operations partner to deliver a seamless luxury experience to our clients. Manage readiness & coordinate execution of peak seasons
- Ensure constant feedback loop – analyzing online behaviors as well as client NPS/feedback – to inform short- and longer-term growth plan for e-commerce and broader omnichannel strategy
- Drive retention of top digital exclusives through clienteling and client engagement activities
- Collaborate with marketing to drive online activations across various channels like SEO, email and content marketing to drive traffic, engagement and conversion
Digital and omnichannel Projects
- Lead the planning and execution of projects, orchestrating the implementation across all functions and with global headquarters
- Working with retail partnership team to expand digital footprint
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor analysis, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and identify new opportunities to enhance positioning, customer experience and sales
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in digital/e-commerce, with prior experience in a role directly accountable for business sales
- Experienced team leader with a passion for motivating and developing agile and high performing teams
- Deep understanding of e-commerce principles, best practices, and digital marketing strategies
- Proven experience in leading successful e-commerce initiatives and driving significant revenue growth
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross functional, matrix organization
- Strong influencing and communication skills
- Knowledge of website analytics tools, ecommerce platforms. Salesforce commerce cloud experience a plus
