The Director of E-commerce will be responsible for developing and executing our e-commerce strategy to drive profitable growth across both our DTC website and digital wholesale channels. This leader will oversee all aspects of the online customer experience, merchandising, and e-commerce operations while working cross-functionally with product, marketing, technology, and fulfillment teams.
- Proven experience owning ecommerce product roadmaps and leading cross-functional launches
- Strong understanding of CRO, A/B testing, and site personalization
- Skilled at collaborating with engineers and designers to build intuitive, high-converting experiences
- Familiarity with Shopify Plus and modern ecomm best practices
- Experience developing features like bundles, upsell and post purchase flows, PDP improvements, and custom landing pages
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Deep fluency in web analytics, funnel metrics, and behavioral data (e.g. GA4, Shopify analytics, post-purchase surveys)
- Comfortable using analytics tools to monitor and act on KPIs (CVR, bounce rate, cart abandonment, AOV, LTV)
- Experience with experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, multivariate, holdouts) and interpreting test results with statistical rigor
- Able to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into product and marketing decisions
- Familiar with tools like heatmap.com, intelligems and shogun
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Works closely with marketing channel owners to build high-performance onsite experiences across the funnel
- Supports creative teams with campaign briefs that reflect brand goals and revenue targets
- Skilled at managing input from stakeholders across product, engineering, design, and marketing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a clear POV on priorities and tradeoffs
Light Ecommerce Operations Oversight
- Manages a team responsible for product setup, SKU launches, price changes, and routine site updates
- Ensures timely execution of site changes without personally owning operational workflows
- Builds systems and documentation to streamline recurring processes
Experience
- 8+ years of progressive e-commerce experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record of driving growth in both DTC and wholesale/B2B e-commerce channels
- Experience managing a multi-million dollar e-commerce P&L
- History of successfully leading cross-functional teams and projects
- Experience with major e-commerce platforms (Shopify Plus, Magento, BigCommerce, etc.)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Shopify for e-commerce platform management, product setup, and visual merchandising.
- Experience with project management tools for task organization, collaboration, and project tracking.
- Proficiency in Notion for project management, task organization, collaboration, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Slack for effective communication, collaboration, and team coordination, including channel management, file sharing, and real-time messaging.
- Proficiency in GSuite for productivity, document management, and collaboration, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Familiarity with Loom for creating and sharing video content, including screen recordings, tutorials, and presentations, to enhance communication and training within teams.
