Job summary

Johns Hopkins University seeks a Director of DSAI Industry & External Partnerships to build the external pipeline translating DSAI research into real-world impact. This senior role connects faculty with companies, foundations, and public sector partners to advance sponsored research, licensing, and enterprise collaborations.

The Director will work between DSAI translation teams and JHTV leadership, coordinating with Corporate Partnerships and Technology Transfer to move deals forward and ensure

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or MBA with strong technical background.
• Eight or more years of corporate partnerships, business development, or technology licensing with a track record of complex deals.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience per the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Map industry landscape to identify high-potential external partners.
• Build and steward relationships with corporate R&D leaders, foundations, and government contacts.
• Cultivate durable partnerships by maintaining engagement with decision-makers before, during, and after deals.
• Represent JHTV and DSAI at industry events to promote AI and data science collaborations.
• Coordinate with JHTV’s Corporate Partnerships to connect external deals to internal deal infrastructure.
