Job summary

City of New York seeks an Administrative Director of Social Services to lead the Disability Services Program across 14 locations. You will oversee operations, coordinate with SSA and city agencies, and drive policy development to improve disability determinations for applicants and recipients.

The role requires a bachelor degree and four years in progressively responsible roles, including one year in management, within a large governmental or similar setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with the bachelor degree and the one year administrative/management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage Disability Services Program operations across multiple regions and locations to ensure efficient eligibility determinations.
• Provide administrative oversight of two regions headed by direct reports; meet with managers to set goals, delegate tasks, and monitor performance.
• Serve as liaison with SSA, SSA-related agencies and other divisions to coordinate policy and service delivery.
• Recruit, promote, reward, evaluate and develop staff; ensure compliance with agency directives and disciplinary processes.
• Formulate and implement policies governing the Disability Service Program to enhance disability determinations.
