Job summary

City of New York’s Human Resources Administration seeks an Administrative Director of Social Services NM-II to lead the Disability Services Program, overseeing regional operations across 14 city-wide sites and ensuring accurate eligibility determinations for disability reviews.

The Director will coordinate with SSA, HASA and other divisions, manage two regional teams, drive strategic plans, and supervise staff performance, training and policy formation.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at a managerial level.
• Education and/or experience may be equivalent to (1), but a bachelor’s degree and one year at the administrative/managerial level are required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage program operations across 14 city-wide locations for efficient disability determinations.
• Direct administrative oversight of two regions headed by managers; set goals, priorities and monitor performance.
• Interface with SSA, OHA, HASA, FIA, MICSA and other divisions to coordinate policies and service delivery.
• Recruit, promote and reward staff in compliance with agency directives.
• Evaluate direct reports and provide development, coaching and performance reviews.
• Ensure staff development through training and mentoring; enforce discipline per policy.
• Formulate policies for the Disability Services Program to strengthen determinations for eligible applicants.
• Coordinate with We CARE vendor staff for SSA applications and appeals.
• Direct analytical staff in data collection and reporting to inform policy.
• Participate in labor/management meetings to ensure policy compliance.
