Job summary

CSP Composite, Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a Senior Director of Direct Materials to lead the procurement team and drive end-to-end sourcing for raw materials, production parts, and paints. You will shape category strategy, run RFx programs, and advance supplier partnerships across the North American footprint.

The role requires 10+ years in direct materials with PPAP/APQP exposure, strong negotiation, and a track record of cost savings and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in direct materials procurement or category management in automotive/advanced manufacturing.
• Proven track record building and leading procurement teams with PPAP/APQP awareness.
• Experience delivering cost savings and resilient supplier networks across multiple categories.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Direct Materials procurement team; set objectives and accountability.
• Own category strategies across raw materials, production parts, and paint/external paint.
• Drive RFx/e-auctions, TCO modeling, and should-cost analysis with cross-functional teams.
• Lead global RFPs for production parts; promote supplier localization and dual-sourcing.
• Maintain supplier relations with MSAs, pricing agreements, and performance dashboards.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, PPAP readiness, and ESG considerations.
