Job summary

The Department of Design and Construction in New York City seeks a Director to lead the Design-Build portfolio, guiding complex building projects from initiation to completion. You will ensure best practices, align with agency priorities, and manage project delivery within schedule and budget.

Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, you will supervise Deputy Directors and PMs, drive professional development, and represent Alternative Delivery in public forums, resolving interagency issues as

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related field with five years of relevant experience, two in supervisory capacity.
Or 9 years of experience with a high school diploma and two years in supervisory capacity.
Education/experience equivalent to the above with additional credentials or licenses.

Responsibilities

Oversee design-build projects from development through post-award, ensuring schedule and budget adherence.
Lead coordination across DDC divisions to support project delivery and technical compliance.
Identify lessons learned to inform agency-wide design-build initiatives and procedures.
Supervise Deputy Directors and PMs, providing guidance and staff development.
Represent Alternative Delivery in public forums and manage senior-level reporting.
