Job summary

G2 is seeking a Director, Data Solutions to own the business end to end, including revenue, clients, team, and product direction. This player-coach role requires commercial leadership to build a high-performing sales organization and to translate investor workflows into a clear data roadmap with product, data, and engineering partners.

You will source and close strategic opportunities with hedge funds and asset managers, drive adoption and expansion in strategic accounts, and scale the function

Qualifications

• 8+ years in alternative data, financial information services, or data solutions.
• 5+ years selling data or analytics products to institutional investors.
• 5+ years leading sales, account management, or client success teams.
• Extensive network across hedge funds, asset managers, PE, VC, and family offices.
• Proven track record closing complex enterprise deals and beating revenue targets.
• Ability to translate client insight into product direction.
• Comfort with ambiguity and building structure where none exists.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue and source/close strategic opportunities across investors.
• Serve as executive sponsor for strategic accounts and drive adoption/retention.
• Lead and coach a sales and account support team.
• Collaborate with product, data, and engineering to shape a data solutions roadmap.
