Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking an Executive Director Data Management Architecture to lead the architectural vision for a large-scale employee data platform within the Employee Platforms team. You will mentor a team of architects and engineers while delivering ingestion, refinement, and access capabilities across multiple domains.

You will drive target-state architectures, governance, data quality, and observability, balancing technical rigor with business pragmatism to enable trusted employee data

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in data architecture and 10+ years applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists to solve complex technical items in your domain.
• Experience designing large-scale data platforms including ingestion, transformation, refinement, and serving layers.
• Experience with transactional systems and real-time streaming architectures, focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Strong data modeling skills across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
• Experience implementing governance: metadata, lineage, ownership, quality management.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for employee data ingestion, refinement, storage, and access across domains.
• Establish architectural principles and reference patterns for modular, evolvable platforms.
• Design ingestion and integration patterns (batch and streaming) with schema evolution and fault tolerance.
• Architect refinement pipelines for trusted, reusable datasets and standardized entities/events.
• Lead data modeling across domains; drive metadata standards and documentation.
• Define controls for data quality, lineage, platform monitoring, and runbooks.
• Partner with governance and control stakeholders to ensure ownership and change management.
• Ensure designs handle personal data responsibly and align with data risk policies.
• Lead and mentor data architects and engineers with design reviews and guidance.
