Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Jersey City is seeking a Director of Data Architecture to shape the enterprise data platform for employee data, guiding ingestion, refinement, and delivery at scale while mentoring a team of architects and engineers.

You will define target-state architectures, establish standards, and partner with data product, governance, and control stakeholders to ensure data quality, risk alignment, and scalable solutions across the firm.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in data architecture with 10+ years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists within your domain.
• Experience designing large-scale data platforms and multi-domain data models.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for employee data ingestion, refinement, storage, and access.
• Establish architectural principles and reference patterns for modularity, loose coupling, reusability, and evolvability.
• Design ingestion and integration patterns for batch and streaming upstream systems, including schema evolution and fault tolerance.
• Architect refinement pipelines that produce trusted, reusable curated datasets and standardized entities and events.
• Lead data modeling across key employee data domains; drive metadata standards and documentation.
• Lead and mentor data architects and engineers, providing design reviews and hands-on guidance.
